Getting started
How do I create my first as-built?
Click Upload Plan or drag and drop to bring in your site plan as a PDF or image. A default zone is created automatically - rename it to match your first zone, then use the Valve, Sprinkler, Meter, and Controller tools to click directly on the plan and place markers. Use Mainline and Zone Pipe to trace piping, and Zone Area to fill in coverage areas.
What file types can I upload?
PDF is the best option - IrriBilt renders it at high resolution, which keeps your exported as-built sharp. PNG and JPG images work too, but since plain images don't carry any resolution or scale information, sizing for markers and lines is calibrated using an assumed standard resolution rather than the exact source file.
Why do I need to select a zone before placing a valve or sprinkler?
Valves and sprinklers are always tied to a zone, and take that zone's color automatically - this is what makes the valve schedule and legend generate correctly. Select an existing zone from the panel on the right, or click + New Zone to create one, before placing markers.
Drawing scale
What does the "Scale 1"=" dropdown actually do?
It tells IrriBilt what drawing scale your uploaded plan is at, so that valve, sprinkler, meter, controller, and line-weight sizing stays visually consistent and legible - a symbol sized correctly for a 1"=10' plan won't look right on a 1"=40' plan without this set correctly. Match it to the scale printed on your original plan.
My plan's scale isn't in the dropdown - what do I do?
The dropdown covers the most common engineering scales, 10' through 100'. If your plan uses something outside that range, pick the closest available option - symbol and line sizing will still be reasonable, just not scaled to the exact stated value.
Exporting
Should I export PNG or PDF?
PDF is generally the better choice for anything you'll print or submit - it's sized to your plan's actual physical sheet dimensions, so it prints at the correct scale. PNG is useful for quickly sharing an image, such as attaching to an email or text, where exact print scale doesn't matter.
My exported PDF looks small when I print it - why?
This is almost always a printer paper-size issue, not an export issue. IrriBilt exports the PDF at your plan's true physical sheet size, for example, 24"x36". If your printer only has smaller paper loaded, it will automatically shrink the page to fit, which is expected behavior for printing a large-format drawing on standard paper. For a full-scale printout, use a large-format printer or plotter, or check your print dialog for a tiling or poster-print option.
Saving and loading projects
Where do my project files save to?
Clicking Save Project opens your browser's native save dialog on Chrome or Edge, letting you choose exactly where the .ibp file goes on your device. On browsers that don't support this, such as Firefox and Safari, it downloads automatically to your usual downloads folder instead.
How do I reopen a saved project later?
Use Load Project and select the .ibp file you saved. Everything - your plan, zones, valves, lines, drawing scale, and legend position - comes back exactly as you left it.
Working on mobile
Does IrriBilt work on my phone or tablet?
Yes - the layout automatically adapts on touch devices: tools tuck into a compact menu, panels stack instead of sitting side-by-side, and you can pan the canvas with one finger or pinch to zoom. On a laptop or desktop, even one with a touchscreen, you'll get the full desktop layout as long as your primary input is a mouse or trackpad.
Can I install IrriBilt like an app on my phone?
Yes. IrriBilt is a Progressive Web App - most mobile browsers will offer an "Add to Home Screen" or "Install" option, which gives you an app icon and a full-screen experience without needing an app store.
Troubleshooting
I don't see a recent update or fix - what should I try?
Close the browser tab completely and reopen the app. A normal refresh isn't always enough, since IrriBilt caches itself for offline use. If that doesn't help, try a hard refresh, or clear the site's cached data for irribilt.com in your browser settings.
Symbols or lines look too big or too small.
Double-check the Scale 1"= dropdown matches your plan's actual stated scale - this is the most common cause. Sizing is designed to stay proportionate across scales, so an incorrect scale setting is almost always the reason something looks off.
I placed a valve or sprinkler in the wrong spot.
Switch to the Select tool and drag it to the correct position, or use the Delete tool and click near it to remove it. Undo and Redo also work for stepping back through recent changes.

Plans, team seats, and registered devices
Annual plans include unlimited exports. Monthly includes three export credits per paid billing month; additional exports cost $39 each. Monthly credits reset at renewal, while purchased credits remain available. Each PNG or PDF export, including a revision, uses one credit unless you have unlimited annual access.
Open Account to view credits, manage billing, or remove an old device registration. Each named user can register two browsers or devices. Clearing browser data creates a new registration. Exporting requires an internet connection to verify access; editing and locally saved projects remain available without a paid export.
Billing administrators can assign seats by employee email without using a paid seat themselves. Ask the employee to sign in with that email and open Account to claim the seat. Administrators who also use the app can choose Assign myself a seat, or release that seat later while retaining billing and team management. For plan changes or additional seats, contact support.
Email us at support@irribilt.com with a description of what you're seeing - if it's a display issue, a screenshot helps a lot. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.
